Description

Up for sale is a #'s matching 1971 Porsche 911T. I purchased this car about 2 moths ago with the goal of turning it into a wide body hotrod. After looking at the engine code I decide to order a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche to verify whether it was a numbers matching example. It is in fact the original motor and transmission and I would prefer to pass it on to someone who's looking for a restoration project rather than break up an original example.
VIN#9111120111
Engine# 6114222
Trans# 7110487
Original color: Bahia Red
Mileage: Odometer reads 65K miles but its only a 5 digit odometer so actual mileage is unknown. The previous owner, ho had it for over 15 years, id drive the car but didn't put many miles on it during his ownership.
Condition:
At some point in this cars life the back end and interior were updated to better resemble a Gbody car. The rear section that is usually welded in for these Gbody conversions was only riveted in so its very easy to remove to revert back to original. Good news is they left the front end alone with the exception of adding an RS style FG bumper but everything is in place as it should be. From what I can tell it was painted Yellow at some point and then the current Ice green color. The paint is at least 15 years old and shows some bubbling in some areas butoverallitdoesn'tlook too bad from 5 foot. I've surprisingly gotten compliments on the color. I would assume the new owner would want a new paint job or turn it back to its original Bahia Red. There is a little bit of rust in the battery box and nose area but not bad. The floorboard appears to have been repaired at some point but you'll probably want to address them for a more OEM finish. The glass and interior is in really good shape with a new headliner.Wheels and tires in great shape but not original to the car. All the electronics lights and electronics work. The Speedometer and Tach do not appear to read correctly.
Mechanical:
The car runs and drives but definitely needs some TLC to get it back to spec. I would notrecommenddriving long distances until the other items I'm about to list areaddressedfor reliability and drivability. While waiting on the COA I had the Carbs rebuilt($700), nstalled a Pertronix($100) ignition and a new distributor Cap and rotor($40). Probably needs new plugs and a valve adjustment as well to get the motor back into shape. The oil looks fresh but you'll need to change to adjust the valves. All the synchros in the Transmission seem to be fine but the car needs new transmission mounts($80/piece). Brakes, teering, nd everything else seem to beOK. Thepreviousowner had the engine out of the car in 2000 and had lots of work done on it and had it painted and detailed. The engine was also upgraded with the Carrera chain tensioner kit. The car does not not smoke and only drips a very tinyamount. I think this is seepage not a leak.
