In the car restoration business there are times when you go too far, you take too long and you spend too much money. This car represents one of those times.
I bought this car from a kindly older gentleman in Austin, Texas in the Summer of 2014. At the time I bought it, it had a VW engine in it, it had no brakes, it had multiple rust holes in the pan and its tattered black carpeting had been screwed to the floor pan (yes, there were actual screws holding the carpet to the pan ... ugggggghhh). However, I saw no pitfalls - only potentia - magnificent, magnificent potential. After I bought the car, I had the following work performed on this car:

Obviously, I have receipts for all the repairs described above and all parts were sourced from reputable sources, e.g., Pelican, SMC, Porsche North Houston, etc., etc.. I have also done my best to document the work performed photographically (see photos below) and digital images of all receipts and photos can be included in the sale.
After completing these repairs, I started driving and enjoying the car. Over the course of the past year or so, I have placed roughly 900 miles on the car and have done so without issue. At the beginning of the summer, I had the car tuned and replaced the engine oil. As it sits, the car has no significant issues and needs virtually nothing. In fact, I believe that this 912 is ALMOST NEW and is about as good as it could ever be. While it is not perfect, its mechanical performance is impeccable. In fact, the mechanics are so good that if the car is purchased at the "Buy It Now" price then I will sell the car with a "buy it back" guaranty. Please ask me for the details on this guaranty.
PLEASE NOTE: The car does not currently have its original engine. However, I have the original engine. If the car is purchased at the "Buy It Now" price then the original engine (in long block form without carbs, engine tin or peripherals) will accompany the car. In addition, if the car is purchased at the "BIN" price then I will also include a set of 15X5.5 front and 15X7 rear Fuch rims. Finally, if the car is purchased at the "BIN" price then I will include a set of 1969 Texas plates (front and rear).
In closing, if you are in the market for a very nice, rapidly appreciating 912 then you should give the instant car serious consideration. While it is not a perfect car, it is a near perfect driver. If you would like to see it being driven then there is a video of it being driven on my YouTube channel - TheBavarianMotors.
