Description
Less than 2100 of these little Porsches have been made. Very fun to drive with their Fuel Injected 2.0L VW engine a 5-speed manual transmission and 4 disk brakes. This one starts and runs perfectly. I've spent $6000 (with invoices) over the last 6 months. No rust or surface rust anywhere the pan is perfect. Heater boxes are in nice shape. 15" original Fuchs rims mounted withPirelliP400 Touring tires. New paint in original "Bitter Chocolate" color (Code 408-9-1) with tan interior. Front seats have just been reupholstered. Back seats in good shape. Just need carpeted back redone. The original headliner is in good shape but shows its age. A new one comes with the car. A very small crack on top of dashboard and another one on top of passenger side door panel. One small chip on windshield. I do not have any documentation supporting an possible engine rebuilt. It starts on a dime idles nicely immediately doesn't smoke or rattle and produces good torque and acceleration. Clutch is sound and gears are very easy to find. Occasional grind (for new drivers) when going into reverse or 1st if RPMs are not down to an idle level.Engine serial #: 4060590. Car VIN #: 9126000711.This cutie is a real pleasure to drive and is always ready to go. Very frugal too! She puts a smile on a lot of pedestrians and fellow drivers. A great fun investment.I'd be happy to help with shipment domestic or international. Thanks for looking. For those who wouldn't know: (Wikipedia extract). After a six-year absence the 912 was re-introduced to North America as the 1976 model year 912E (internal factory designation 923) which shared the "G-Series" bodywork with the 911S. The "Prototyp" Museum collection in Hamburg Germany includes a 912E preseries vehicle constructed utilizing a 911 Chassis No. 911 520 1617 and four-cylinder VW-Porsche 90HP 2.0L Type 4 similar to the late-model 2.0L 914/4.[2] Once in production the 912E was powered by an 86 bhp 2.0 L Volkswagen air-cooled engine refined with a new Bosch L-Jetronic (Air Flow Controlled) fuel injection system. The 912E occupied the entry-level position left vacant by the discontinuation of the 914 while the new 924 -- another Porsche-Volkswagen joint effort vehicle and the 914's official replacement -- was being finalized and put into production. During the production run of May 1975 to July 1976 Porsche manufactured nearly 2100 of the 912E targeted to the United States market.
