1964 Porsche 356C Coupe This is a classic Karmann coupe 1964 Porsche 356C with matching numbers finished in a distinctive champagne yellow with black leather interior. Car purchased in January 2015 at the Russo & Steele auction and has been driven very little since. The odometer reads 34425 though the actual mileage is represented as unknown. According to the Certificate of Authenticity ordered in March 2015 this 1963 356C/1600 Karmann Coupe had its original engine (body & engine numbers match). It looks like the original color when the 356C left the factory was light ivory (6404). Not sure when the 356C was painted Champagne Yellow (6405). There does not appear to be any evidence of the original ivory. Among all of the 1960's Porsche 356 models the 356C is the most desirable and the most valuable. The 356C is the only Porsche 356 to come with Dunlop four-wheel disc brakes higher-lift camshaft for the 1600C engine flat faced hubcaps and deeper seats from the company that would come to be known as Recarro. If you are looking for a classic and eloquent Porsche for your collection this Champagne Yellow Porsche 356C offers a great opportunity. The interior looks great having just been redone with new headliner front seats door cards dash and carpet. The steering wheel looks to be original and is in great shape. It does feature an Eight-Track radio (which does not work but looks like a great conversation piece). For the most part the paint is pretty good except for a few small issues. When the rubber seals aoround the windshield were replaced (just recently when the 356 was serviced at Lamborghini of Houston) It looks like a the new seals are smaller than the old so there are marks around the seals especially the windshield surround and door handles (suggesting an ealier respray of the champagne yellow paint. Good news is that the weather stripping and chrome is all new. and There were a couple of other small chips in the paint such as the driver’s door and the corner of the engine bay lid. There is a single isolated area on the passenger door with several small bubbles in the paint. (Will be glad to email additional pictures upon request). There is no visible appearance of any rust with the body looking pretty straight. A local body shop quoted $400 to touch up the paint defects. Tires seemed new as well.Bright work (chrome) I would call fair (some new some dated). Overall it would not take much to elevate to this 356C for a concours display. This 356C is very presentable and would be great for someone to drive and enhance in the garage being nicely sorted. The 356C was recently serviced and runs like a top! The gas tank and battery were replaced as were the carburetors. When inspected at Lamborghini of Houston headlights tail lights and horns were replaced as well. I personally took the 356 out for a drive. It started drove and stopped as it should. If you are looking for an honest fun to drive and enjoy Porsche 356C this is a great car! The birth certificate that comes with the car (Porsche's Certificate of Authenticity) confirms the car's matching numbers engine (#710436) and Chassis (#215355). Also attached is the listing information from Russo & Steele (estimating a value of $75000-$95000) when the car was purchased earlier this year. I would recommend viewing the Hagerty Valuation Tool. This 356C would be worthy of the average reported! Let's just say this will be one of the best deals out there at the moment for a great 356C (as verified using the Hagerty Valuation Tool)! Please take a moment to look through the photo galleries so you can get a very accurate assessment of the physical condition of this Porsche 356C for sale. It is being sold on behalf of a friend. It is with reluctance that the owner is selling his 356C. Having recently fractured his ankle requiring a fusion thus driving any car with a clutch is more than uncomfortable. For reason the 356C will follow the sale of be Jaguar E-Type 2+2 that was just sold. We have plenty more pictures available upon request. Inspections of the 356C are encouraged. The car is located in Midlothian Virginia (South side of Richmond). The Porsche is being sold as- is. The 356C is being sold locally as well and accordingly may result in the listing ending early. Thank you for viewing this listing.
