Description

1993 Porsche Carrera 4 C4 with only 52k miles.
NO RESERVE AUCTION !!!! Call 8Ol-477-6l47 with any questions or to see more pics. I have very limited knowledge about this car and its history and will share what I have found. My brother took this car as part payment on a debt and asked me to help sell it on ebay. He does not have much interest in spending money trying to get the car running as it has been sitting for a couple of years. All he wanted to do was have it washed/waxed/vacuumed etc.. The battery was dead and the gas smelled fairly old and we tried to use jumper cables but it would not respond. The Porsche shop wants $150/hr to work on it plus a tow so he will not put any money into it. Here is some of the story we were told as we spoke to a gentleman who has known the car since 1999, here it was purchased by a dealer from a local auction and driven very little over the next decade (according to the back of the title it had 42k miles in 1999 and has been at 52k for the past few years so less than 1000 miles/year. The documents/title show 2 owners since 1999 and the gentleman I spoke to said he knew the people did not drive it often (Sunday drives) and said he knew it was running just a couple years ago.
I left a pretty good description of the flaws up above describing the minor scratches and 1 tiny ding, indshield crack, tc.. please read. I forgot to mention there is a little piece of trim missing on the threshold where the carpet meets the door...I included a pic of it as well. The car is not perfect and will need some love. The good thing I have read is the fan cooled ones are going up in value quite a bit so should be an opportunity (especially if you are mechanical) to own a piece of history that is appreciating. Sure wish I could talk him into fixing it and driving it before selling but he is afraid if the problem is big he would have to put money into it and his wife will not let him spend money on it (Its clear who wears the pants in his family)(hope he does not read this.))
I got really excited when I put the vin in to start the ebay ad because when it automatically populated everything it said it was a "RS America" model. I started looking at the prices of those and called my friend and said he is pretty sure this one is not the RS America. It has been fun to learn about the 90's Porsches. I would be happy to answer whatever questions you may have. Please call 8Ol-477-6l47 for more information. There are drive axles going to all 4 wheels which confirms the C4 model and not the two wheel drive.
I have taken another 15-20 pics of the car but only had space for 24. If you would like to see more pics please let me know where to send them. I work in the freight/shipping world and have some connections for transport options to transport the car. You are welcome to arrive with a trailer and haul it home as well but if you would like I checked some costs to transport it and it was roughly $500-$700 to ship to West Coast and a little more to the Midwest and in the mid teens to the East Coast. If you would like exact ship rate let me know and I can check but only if you are serious. Buyer is responsible for transport but I am happy to assist etc.. If you want me to help book it etc. we can arrange that as well but buyer is responsible for shipping charges.
Please only bid if you are serious about buying. If you click to bid or make an offer you agree to send $500 security deposit immediately. Security deposit is not refundable. If you need a loan get it before you win. I cant finance you. Buyer is to contact me within 24 hours with $500 nonrefundable deposit and make arrangements for full payment to be made within the coming week. If not Seller can sell to the next bidder or someone else. If you win the auction and dont complete the transaction you will be reported to ebay and left negative feedback and probably call you some bad names.
Car is for sale locally and therefore I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if I have the right offer presented locally. If you have any questions please ask and do not assume anything. If I do not know the answer I will try to find it. I reserve the right to cancel bids with excessive negative feedback and cancel bids to end auction if sold locally. Vehicle is sold as is where is with no warranty and no returns.
Again please call 8Ol-477-6l47 for any inquiries etc.
I had someone mention this to me a few years ago. For those of you in other countries who may be wanting to purchase but are not as confident etc. purchasing out of state, t was suggested that I be willing to have the sale go through a licensed/bonded dealer so the buyer was more confident with his purchase and getting proper paperwork etc. and I would be happy to do that and can make that happen if needed for a purchasers peace of mind. We maybe could even do it through one of the worldwide well known autoauctions like Copart where they wont sell the car til they have the title in hand....whatever works Im fine with.

I have a couple of people who asked me to try and turn the motor over so I did last night. As I mentioned we had a backyard mechanic who took a look at the car before we got it and said he tried to jump the battery and it was too dead. He also said he tried to turn it over by pushing it in 5th gear and said he could get it to move. I am a little bothered with the mechanic because last night at the request of a couple of callers I took a socket and I could not reach the bolt on the end of the engine (there is a metal brace or bracket that is so close to it I could not get the socket on so I put it in 5th gear and pushed pretty hard and it moved just fine. It seemed to have compression as it would get hard to push, hen easy etc.. I was able to push the car backwards and forward 8-10 feet while in 5th gear so it turned over a couple of times in both directions going forward and back.) I was also able to get the battery to take a charge so I charged it over night last night. I wished I had dont this before I listed it but I believed the guy who said he checked it out. Frustrating. So the engine does turn over fine but I do not dare try and start it. I couple of people who called me this morning said with all the aluminum parts in the engine and not knowing much about it it would be a gamble to try and start it. I do not want to take that gamble and possibly hurt the engine. I have been asked to check the brakes and had my sons helped me push it and the brakes work. I was also asked to check to see if I hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key on. I will have to check that in the morning as I am at work today and my wife surprised me with Garth Brooks tickets tonight so I wont be home until late and will check tomorrow. As much as I am tempted to try and start it a couple of you Porsche experts have advised not to so that is the plan.

I apologize I thought I had 2 pictures of the engine when I uploaded all the pics for this listing. I kept wondering why people kept asking for engine pics. Somehow those pics did not get included in my listing and it will not let me remove some and add others at this point.
