Description

I spent a ton of money rebuilding this car from the inside out.Check the pics of the engine bay and trunk. The plan was once it was all rebuilt send it off the body shop.It isn't going to work out that way.I finished the major mechanical work about three years ago.But I have not done much with it since. The engine is totally rebuilt to the highest professional standards. It runs cool smooth and quietly. The transmission a four-speed overdrive (J-Type) was rebuilt by Quantum Mechanics in Ct. Works like new.The differential axles suspension brakes all rebuilt. All done by a professional British car restorer. When this last winter storage ended she emerged with a noisy throwout bearing. I am not going to fix the car. I no longer have the space much less the time to pull the gearbox and make the repair. The Stag is still drivable just very noisy when you touch the clutch pedal.I have a new carpet set a new cloth convertible top and a new windshield seal that will go with the car I have spent far north of 20k on this car and I am going to lose quite a bit. That's the way it goes I guess.I can't emphasize enough the mechanical condition aside from the t/o bearing. The car has a Holley carb Pertronix ignition so it is dependable. The dash wood is good. The seat upholstery is good but the seat foams need replacing. The dash has a few cracks. There is no rust on the car. It needs paint. The green looks far better in pictures than it does in real life.A pretty easy project for someone looking for a mechanically done Stag that needs mostly just cosmetics.Car is located in Detroit. I wouldn't drive it far not knowing how long the t/o bearing will last.Got questions: fire away. Rich Truett6-15-2015: Interior photos added.
