This is the true classic motorsport enthusiast’s car! Finished in dramatic code (32) correct Signal Red over an impeccable black interior, aint and body on this fantastic car shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon extreme close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers boast fresh chrome, it nicely and compliment the body. The black soft convertible top is also in excellent condition and fits nicely. Car also comes with a newer black tonneau cover.
The Triumph TR4A was built between 1965 and 1967 by the Triumph motor Company in the United Kingdom. The TR4A was an evolution of the TR4, pdated with a new chassis. It was hoped the new, ut more complex, ndependent ear suspension would address the buying public’s desire for more comfortable riding sports cars. This version has an “IRS” badge on the rear. It has been estimated that 75 percent of TR4A were built with IRS. In response to dealer requests, bout 25 percent of TR4As were produced with a solid rear axle option (also called a live axle), imilar to the earlier TR4. The TR4A was the first vehicle to offer an option for axle type. The new suspension eventually proved itself with the buying public and in racing, ith three TR4A IRS models posting a team win and finishing 1st, nd and 3rd in class at the Sebring 12-hour race of 1966.
Inside, he black leather bucket seats and rear cargo area and all look great with no major signs of wear visible. One of the greatest features of these Triumphs is the wood instrument panel, nd this example is among the nicest we have ever seen. All gauges function as they should and present beautifully in their respective places in the dash. The door panels and dashboard are have also been recent reupholstered and present beautifully. Paint and body are exceptional with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find.
This nicely appointed TR4A features strong running 2.1 Liter inline 4 cylinder engine mated to a superb 4-speed manual transmission with desirable overdrive. Overall mechanical condition is excellent on this fully restored and very well sorted classic English Roadster. The dark grey centered Panasport style 15″ alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P600 tires create a very serious track look and even more road grip. This extremely good looking and well equipped roadster will delight even the most discerning early sports car collector or enthusiast. The car even comes with the rarely seen 2 position Survey top, owever it has not been fitted to the car. Included with car is an extensive collection of service and restoration receipts, arts catalogs and even a signed certified copy of a factory record from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust!
