The details here have changed - please make sure to read them carefully:
In the spirit of the current Star Wars buzz, he may not look like much but she's got it where it counts. She is only regrettably being sold help fund a Porsche 911 engine rebuild.
The car is a veteran of frequent SoCal TT and other touring events, nd is well known by that community of eclectic gearheads.
New front uprated springs from Ted, ew poly bushings everywhere including rear arms and swaybar bushings. The car is quite fast, andles and brakes well. She is an absolute blast on fast touring roads which is where I built her up to thrive.
All the parts are there for the power steering pump, o you can simply replace the pump to use the full power set up, ut as noted above it is currently disconnected as the pump was leaking. The steering rack was not leaking at the time the steering pump was disconnected. Carpet was ratty and was removed to wire brush and POR15 paint the cockpit floors. Sound deadening installed on top of rust free POR15 silver painted floors. The brake MC leaked which she was stored for a long time so there is a index size patch to the driver front floorboard. That was done 6+ years ago and no issues since.
No structural rust, ills heavily soaked in Eastwood anti-rust cavity wax, ockpit floors are great, runk floor is great, ender seams are great. Appears to never have been hit. Exterior sills had very-very minor surface rust on one side so both sides were stripped back to bare metal, reated with phosphoric acid wipe then Eastwood anti-rust black paint and crudely spray painted in the original color. As you probably guess I was planning on doing a bare metal repaint and was only focused on having a rust free shell rather than being focused on cosmetic until that point.
Headlights and turn signals and brake lights and horn and gauges all work properly. Clock is non-functional.
As noted above she has a 4.0 Rover engine with the correct higher compression 4.0 liter heads on her, he does not have the 3.5. This engine was rebuilt approximately 8 years ago and as under 9,000 miles on it since the full rebuild using a fresh block. All of the SMOG gear was transferred over, nd the engine has passed multiple SMOG visual inspections. The extra 1/2 liter of displacement and higher compression makes for a significantly stronger engine.
Mileage might be original and not flipped over based on the history that I have been able to document, he apparently sat for a long time in the 1990s and only had low miles from the immediately prior owner and myself. I am not sure why the original 3.5 liter engine was replaced, ossibly just the extra power but I don't have history on that.
Current on CA DMV non-op. No fees due.
Clear CA title.
Thick binder full of documentation including all work done and engine rebuild receipts and transmission installation and bushings etc that comes with the car.
Local inspections encouraged. Questions encouraged and will be promptly and honestly answered. Car is sold as-is with no warranties.
I would be happy to help with shipping but you need to arrange that please.
No reserve!
11/19/15 update: The car does not have air conditioning as it was not an air conditioning car from the factory. I added 23 additional pictures and have not dressed the car up in anyway, etter that than soaking it in Amour All and your getting a false impression. The carbs should be rebuilt from sitting, he runs fine but I believe one dashpot oil seal is gone and that is impacting throttle response. I provided close ups in the pictures where I had the front fender lips replaced due to that being a common rust trap, nly the lip area was replaced since the rest of fenders were fine. When I inspected her again this afternoon I noticed some evidence of a small coolant leak from the radiator. She runs dead center of the temperature gauge and has never overheated, or is she consuming coolant, ut you may want to pull the radiator at some point.
