Description

This is 1985 VW pop top Camper. All the camper stuff has been removed except for fold out seat. It was converted to and inline 4 cylinder golf set up by Trico about 10 years ago. Odometer doesn't work so mileage is unknown but believe it has closer to 250,000 miles on vehicle and about 10,000 on engine and transmission. It has been well maintained and repaired as needed. I have it registered and insured and use it weekly for fun and dump runs. It runs great and has all the power we all wished they had from the factory. It was painted primer grey before I bought it and needs a little body work but is rust free underneath. Runs and drives great. It has one torn front rack boot, as great heat and uses no oil or coolant. Rear brakes a little noisy from sitting and rust on drums but goes away after driving a few minutes. I have never put pop top up but according to previous owner it works fine and is in good shape (you should check it out yourself). Exhaust was a custom made system that came with engine swap kit and will need some TLC soon. The conversion cost the previous owner over $10,000 and came with a 5 speed transmission which he blew up(ring and pinion went). I acquired the van in that state and replaced the transmission with a low mileage 4 speed unit and have been driving it the last 5 years with no problems other than the shifter needs a minor fixing(which i plan to do before sold). Please ask any questions or request more pictures before bidding. Add says clear title but this state does not title vehicles over 15 years old. I brought van into shop today to take some pics, nd noticed a few things that I didn't mention or know about earlier: both front rack boots need replacing and top in right rear got slightly damaged (ran slightly off the road during last snow storm). Also a rear axle seal is leaking. As you can see from pics there is minor body defects(where it was bondo'ed before etc.. bur virtually no rust underneath!
