Description

Here is a very nice 1964 VW Notchback S that had a complete restoration about 3 years ago. Since then. I have put approximately 2K miles on it. including a few 3 hour round trips without any issues. I don’t really drive it much except to shows. and have only been caught in the rain twice with it. This is one cool and very rare old car! It has won a few awards. been featured in an advertisement. and on car show fliers. Below are the restoration details: Body: Very straight and clean with no dents. All new seals and moldings including body and rocker moldings All glass is originalOriginal Empi Del Swift mirrorsYear correct short hood handle trimRear Pop out windows Interior: New Oatmeal Carpet with Coir floor matsSound deadener installed before carpetAll new sand color tweed seats. headliner. and door panelsDoor panels are year correct two piece with Z arm restsCorrect wrap around dash and trimOriginal Empi Coach wheel- has a crack at the top from years in the sunPush button dash Suspension/Chassis/Brakes: Type I 3” narrowed conversion beam with beetle drum brakesNew drop spindles. king and link pinsBoth the beam and spindles were done professionally by Valley Autowerks2 Clicks in rear. nbsp; notched spring platesAll new rubber and metal brake linesNew Wheel bearingsFiberglass pans- these are done very nicely and are very strong ( I think they are made by Glass Action) Wheels/Tires: 15” Raders. gun metal with polished lips145/65/15 fronts and 195/65/15 rears Electrical: Converted to 12VAll the lights work including side “parking lights”Windshield wipers workNo hornRadio is not wired in either Engine/Trans: Freshened up 1641Factory Solex dual carbsExtra capacity oil sumpCeramic coated exhaust Here are the things that I see as cons: The S badge on the trunk lid could be re-chromed along with the bumpers which have scratches in them. There is a small hole that got missed at the body shop on the underside of the engine compartment (see pic) this has been coated with POR15 for protection and can only be seen from under the car. The very bottom of the front apron has been scratched up-this is just from it being lowered and scuffing on uneven surfaces. Has a small oil leak which as you know is typical of a VW. At some point in the cars life before I got it. it has apparently been put on a Squareback pan- all the numbers match- Title. Vin. and Pan- the only way I knew was from the birth certificate. Please take the time to view all of the images and documents and feel free to ask me any questions. Also. a video link: https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=WRRJjVVf5M0 I'm providing the most accurate information to the best of my knowledge. I encourage you to come see the car in person or ask any question you may have. Yes it runs and drives and yes you can enjoy it right away without any work to it. But it’s not a new car so please don't expect it to be one. With that being said. it is sold as is without any type of warranty.
