Description

I purchased this car from a lady North of Waterloo Iowa in the spring of 1963. Her brother graduated from Iowa state college, nd a job in England where he bought this car. When he was transferred the United States and got a Chevrolet Corvette to drive to work, nd a couple of months later, he was transferred to Australia. As a result he sold his Corvette is roommate and drove the Sprite up to the sisters house and put in the barn. September in 1962. I opened the Hobby Craft Shop in Marshalltown. In 1963 I started a yo-yo craze and in the month of May I sold enough Duncan to Imperial yo-yos to make the $1200 necessary to buy the Sprite. Since I walked to work, ost of the driving was a sports car events on weekends and as the Pit Crew for Ron McConkey in his Jaguar and Dave Ostrom in his Triumph. When Greenwood Roadway Opened, t was at all the races has dashed plaques on the dash board. After my wife blew the engine, t was not driven for several years when I had time to rebuild engine. I replaced the valve seats to the new standards. After I rebuild the engine. I decided to remove some rust in the lower front panel. No replacement parts were available, o I made plaster casts, nd they fiberglass replacements backing them with polyurethane foam. When I got on eBay, nd was doing well, decided to take it down to one of my customers, ho become a body man and said he would work on in his spare time for a reasonable rate. he worked on it for a few years and spent time replacing parts as necessary. When he was just getting to the stage of painting and the economy collapsed, nd so did my eBay. I told him to stop all work. At the same time, is business was taking off. The Internet and his reputation made possible much more work for him, nd he never had time to work in my car again. Years went by, hile he got busier, nd I got older. I am now 81 and decided I would sell. The total mileages 61391. The engine is rebuilt. Check out the photo of alley out of motives assessment of the car. Check out the photo of A.&J. for the bodywork. Okay All of the parts of the car are original equipment. The seats were upholster with material I bought from someone in Florida.
