1986 CUCV Chevy Blazer M1009 (K5)
BASIC, NO BELLS OR WHISTLES BUT DEPENDABLE
-59K original miles (appox)
-27 gal tank (appox 20miles/gal)
-Clean title
-Originally commissioned for use by USAF then purchased by a police department that painted the exterior silver and the interior black (only 1 other owner besides myself since then)
-Regularly serviced
-24V Electrical System with Dual Amp Alternators & Dual 12V batteries
-jack & lug wrench included
-safari rack included (not mounted)
-twin riffle mounts behind driver's seat
-great condition: ... THE FULL DISCLOSURE ... THE BEST THAT I CAN :)
THE GOOD:
-no cracks in dash
-no rusting on tailgate
-New radiator
-Tires with about 5K miles on them (no spare)
-Transmission Just Services (it was gearing a little too high for my liking)
-Glow Plugs were replaced by previous owner
-Starts great with little to no smoke; even in the cold
-Heater will have you driving with your windows down in the winter
-no leaks under the hood
-rear view mirror added (CUCV's did not traditionally have one)
-ignition re-keyed
-new window crank for tailgate
-4 wheel drive works awesome
-horn and hazards are in original state ... were never re-enabled after being decommissioned
from military use (I just keep flares with me)
-seatbelt for all positions
-no carpet ... just spray it out (great for hunting)
THE NOT SO BAD:
-light rusting around rockers, bottom of door, and cab ... less than expected for it's age
-hood slightly kinked
-paint scratch on driver's door ... probably can be buffed out
-only one small 1/4 inch rip in front driver's seat
-dash illumination is partial (some bulbs need replaced and I have not gotten around to it yet)
-right side view mirror needs re-tightened
-suggest new belt or replacement for the heater blower fan
-suggest updating the window weather stripping to keep it looking good
-driver's side visor needs re-tightened
-tailgate release handle sticks sometimes
-steering column leak inside cab suggests need for new rubber hosing
THE UGLY: .... NONE
