1985 Master Builder (Mark Goyette) and financial backer created a company named Modena Design (El Cajon, A) to replicate a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT The Money man had a real 1961 Ferrari to use "muse", he builder (Mark Goyette) hadimpressive friends, alled upon them to help on the build. First in Bob Webb (NASCAR Chassis builder) and who built several Roger Penske racing cars including his Zerex Special, r. Webb built the Chassis for this car. The fit and finish is incredible, hile the car is 30 years old it would be hard to tell as the door gaps are perfect and opening and closing doors and trunk is smooth.Once you see the quality of this build you understand why Mr. Mark Goyette (Vermont) is known as the "Builder to Billionaires" having achieved the hobby's highest awardWinning Pebble Beach "Best of Show" with a 1932 Daimler Double six in 1999. The second owner completed the "NASCAR" tradition by hiring Bill Meyer (NASCAR racer)and engine builder in 1994 to build him a "go fast" motor that would fit this small car(Stroker 427).
Once this prototype car was completed in 1985 it was driven to car shows where a Hollywood type saw it and asked if it could be shown toJohn Hughes (Ferris Bueller fame), uilders took the car to Hughes and immediately he wanted it for his movie Ferris Bueller.The Movie was a Huge Hit (good news),bad news was Ferrari was not pleased with the resemblance.. Ferrari sued and won, odena was shut down..
Seven cars had been built... Recently the Number 02 car sold at Pebble Beach Auction for $235,000 to a Canadian Billionaire who is also a Ferrari Collector ~ that car has been used for Fundraising events and shows in Canada just recently.
