1967 Lotus Europa S1a type 46 model with removable windows. Pre federal low nose version. Only 89 of the 241 built S1a models are known on the register. (not on registry)
Clear California title in my name
Original numbers matching Renault engine with down draft weber. (original solex included)
Engine runs when you add fuel and a battery. Engine seemed to run good but does have a few leaks.
This car needs a complete restoration Although a correct color for the year this car started life as a Lotus yellow example. This car has suffered a few bumps and bruises over the years but is a good starting point for an early S1a example or type 47 clone. Windshield is cracked.
Car is mostly complete only missing hub caps and the air cleaner. Side windows are there but not correct or original
Original seats need repair to two bolsters. Boot/engine compartment liner in included and in nice shape just not installed in the picture.
Fiberglass is a bit loose where it attaches to the bottom near the steering rack, eems to be an easy fix. Frame seems to be in good condition being in Northern California all it's life. (never inspected or on a lift) Fiberglass does have stress (spider)cracks as you would expect from a fiberglass sports car. Belly looks good but does have a couple cracks under the engine/trans sump that would be an easy fix ( probably improper lifting I'd guess)
Winning bidder collects in Redding California when paid in full
