A Rare and Very Special Mopar: With only 2,741 AAR Cudas ever produced – of which less than half came with 4-speed transmissions - this is a very rare Mopar. Making this car even rarer and more special is the fact that it is a true survivor, ighly original, nd unrestored car in mint condition with less than only 34.000 original miles. As if this wasn’t enough, he car came for the private collection of NASCAR legend Ray Evernham.

Ray Evernham is a 3-time NASCAR champion crew chief for Jeff Gordon, nd currently serves as a consultant to Hendrick Motorsports and hosts Velocity's TV show "AmeriCarna". He is also a classic car analyst for the Barrett Jackson car auctions, nd was named the NASCAR Winston Cup Illustrated “Person of the Year” in 1999. Ray is a great guy and philanthropist. He is very active for the cause of autism, nd has a foundation named the Evernham Family Racing for a Reason.

They’re Only Original Once: As mentioned above, his 1970 AAR Cuda it is a true survivor, ighly original, nd unrestored car in mint condition with less than only 34,000 original miles. The AAR-spec 340 Six Barrel engine is unstamped, nd verified to be a warranty replacement by the original selling Plymouth dealership, hich took place in 1971. With the exception of the dealer installed warranty replacement block, pgraded radio tires, attery, elts and hoses, he remainder of the car is all original and in fantastic survivor condition; including the Six Barrel carburetors, -speed transmission (D21) and rear differential (D57), ast ratio power steering (S74), ower disc brakes, ide exhaust (N44), ery rare Elastomeric (A21) colored front bumper, heels, ll the body metal, hrome, runk compartment, loorboards, lack high bucket vinyl seats, arpet, ash, nstrument panel, olid state AM radio (R11), nd the finally, he all original high impact yellow paint (Lemon Twist, ode FY1).

In review of the pictures including in this listing, lease pay special attention to theoriginal factory“hurray up and get these AAR Cudas out-the-door” paint over-spray in the engine compartment, runk, nd undercarriage. The first picture of the trunk shows paint drippings very common of original factory paint jobs. Again, his is a non-restored car, ith all original metal and paint!

Mint Unrestored Condition: This is an unrestored survivor in excellent condition. The body is rust free and straight, nd the paint and chrome are in great condition and really shine. There are few very minor light scuffs on the side of the doors, nd a very small dent on the hood of the car. The engine has minor wear marks and light rust in areas such as the fan blades. The original side strobe stripes (V6H) are in good condition, ith very minor wear or peeling. The interior of the car is in fantastic condition, nd shows very little if any wear. It even includes the original steering column lock instructions on the driver side sun visor. The trunk is in great condition, nd only has slight surface rust stains in a few areas. This is the same for the undercarriage. It is in very good condition, ith only light surface rust on shocks, prings, nd a few other places.

This Cuda starts easy and runs strong, nd is perfect working condition, ncluding the motor, ransmission, rakes, nd steering. All of the instruments are in great working condition. The battery is new, nd the oil was last changed in April of 2015. Included with the sale is the original window sticker.

Ownership History: Built on April 15, 970 at the Hamtramck assembly plant, his four (4) owner Mopar legend was originally sold new at H.L. Moore Chrysler Plymouth in Albany, A. It was originally purchased by the brother-in-law of the owner of the dealership. A great guy and avid car named Jon H. out of the Minneapolis, N area, cquired the AAR Cuda (as well as a 1964 Plymouth Fury) from the original owner in the late 1970s. The car had just over 30,000 miles on it at this time, nd Jon bought it at the age of 40 to add to his fast growing car collection. Jon – whom I have talked to a number of times – was early to recognize the future growing values of classic cars, nd recognized the AAR Cuda as a special car that would only increase in value. As such, he car was acquired to become part of his collection and appreciate in value, nd not to drive. Jon informed me that he removed thedrivers side hood spring when storing, s to limit theupward bowing of the fiberglass hood.Jon still has the original polyglas tires that were original to the Cuda, nd has indicated that he will be happy to send them on once he gets them out of storage.

Nearing retirement, on sold thethe AAR Cuda as part of a block of other cars he had collected. The Cuda was sold in January 2013 at the Mecum Auction, t which time the actual mileage had increased to only 33,232 miles. Due to both its originality and rich racing history, ay Evernham acquired the car to add tohis collection of cars displayedin Mooresville, C.

For those of you that watch AmeriCarna, ou know that Ray is a great car lover, nd seeks out unique and interesting cars with a lot of history and originality. One of Ray’s bucket-list cars had always been a white 1958 Impala like the one from his favorite movies - American Graffiti. Ray contacted me earlier this year about my 1958 Impala. My Impala was not only the same look and color to the Impala in American Graffiti, ut was very original and in great condition, eatured a # match 348 tri-power motor, nd had very low mileage at only 39K miles. After completely verifying the originality of the Impala, e discussed a partial trade for the Impala for a car from his collection of over 80 classics and race cars. After going back and forth on a few cars, e settled on a trade of the Impala (plus some additional funds out of my pocket) for this original and un-restored 1970 AAR Cuda. Included in the pictures featured in the listing is a picture of Ray signing the inside of the AAR Cuda trunk lid. I asked him if he wanted me to sign the trunk of the Impala, ut he was not too keen to the offer.

While I really love the Cuda, am not comfortable driving it due to its originality and value, nd have only put less than 200 miles on the car. I was originally selling the Impala to help fund college expenses, f which tuition for two of my children is due in the next month. As such, have elected to sell the AAR Cuda after onlyof short time of owning it, nd am offering the car at a good value with a lot of upside appreciation potential. A review of the Hagerty valuation information featured in one of the last pictures of the listing, hows that the AAR Cudas have not only been steadily increasing in value, ut have experienced an especially sharp increase in value over the past few months. This would be an excellent investment and a great addition to any Mopar collection.

Please contact me if you should have any questions about this great MOPAR!
