Brought to you by the Fiero Parts Disposal
This is my 1985 Fiero GT V6 2.8;
I was in the middle of a restoration project but have since went a different direction; here is what I have accomplished so far:
This is a 1985 Fiero GT with a 2.8l V6 173ci with the 3 speed automatic transmission. This car has 120581 miles on it when the odometer quit working sometime shortly after I got it at the beginning of this year. This was my "Project Car" before I began working full-time and now have no time to devote to this.
Here is what I have done to it since I got it: ($860)
• New brakes all around ($50 auto zone)
• Turned all the rotors ($free at local career center)
• Replaced plugs, wires, rotor, cap, and coil ($70 auto zone)
• Replaced vacuum modulator ($20 off ebay)
• Replaced battery ($60 walmart)
• Replaces rims/tires (upgraded to chrome 15") ($400 off CL)
• Replaced fuel pump, fuel screen, fuel filter ($100 auto zone)
• Replaced both radiator caps (front and rear), thermostat, and coolant ($50 auto zone)
• Changed oil and filter ($20 auto zone)
• Changed transmission fluid and filter ($40 auto zone)
• Replaced wipers ($10 walmart)
• Replaced rearview mirror ($10 off CL)
• "Rodney Dickman" alternator retro-fit bracket ($30 off rodneydickman.com)
• Removed the headliner and recovered it, it is almost ready to be put back in along with the trim
Please see the rest oftheparts that I have bought and are now all oneBayfor sale:
Here are the parts that I have bought with the intentions of putting on: ($1180)
• CD player with 7 band equalizer (red lighting to match Fiero panel lights) comes with the wiring harness to plug into the Fiero and the antenna converter
• Leather upholstery red/black from Iggee
• Formed black carper kit from Auto Custom Carpets
• Front shocks / rear struts
• New panels for gauge cluster, and shifter
• Front Fiero badge
• 2 sail panels for a GT in awesome shape
• New (different) GT steering wheel
• New rear wheel hubs/bearings
• New "Rodney Dickman" belt squeal eliminator pulley and serpentine belt
• Front licenses plate holder (the proper one for a GT Fiero, not some crappy after-market)
• New retro-fit vacuum canister for the cruise control
• Exhaust manifold gasket - has an exhaust gasket leak on window side (trunk side done)
• Red "notch back" 1/4 trunk surround
That is about all that I can remember. This is a 31 year old car, the paint is in "decent" condition; this car does have some faded parts where the clear coat is missing. There is a spot on the roof behind the sunroof where the fiberglass has a cracked spot where someone lost their muffler on the interstate and it flew up and hit it.
