Description

This is anextremely rare Subaru model FE. It was converted to electric bythe previous owner. The motor controller is an Alltrax 7245 set to 90 volt max output. The motor is from Advanced DC. I believe it is model FB1-4001. It measures 9 inches in diameter and around 17 inches long. The motor can be used up to 144 volts so a much larger motor controller could be used if you wanted a faster car. The batteries are seven Walmart Maxx-29DC marine batteries wired in series, so fully charged the pack voltage is about 90 volts which is the maximum for the controller. Each battery has its own individual charger so the pack is always balanced. There are 5 in the trunk and 2 under the hood. Also there is one battery for the 12 volt system. There is an electric vacuum pump for the power brakes.
The body of the car is in very good condition considering its age. It was garaged in the winter. There are a few rust spots that can be seen in the pictures. There are two small spots where the paint is bubbling because of rust on the trunk lid. Also there is a spot on the passenger door frame that I put rust converter on and covered with some paint. The wheels are nice aftermarket ones but I also have the original wheels I will send with the car. There is also an extra transmission and a fewmiscellaneous smaller parts, like shocks etc.
Here is the bad: The batteries will need to be replaced soon. Most of them have been in the car for 3 years. The quick fix would be to replace them with the original marine batteries but if you are able to afford a lithium battery pack this would be a really fun car to drive as it would be lighter and more powerful and the range would greatly increase. When the pack was new I could probably drive the car about 10 to 15 miles. Now I only drive around town a few miles as the pack is getting weak. Another thing that will have to be replaced soon is the tie rods. When the car was inspected last July the mechanic said they were close to being out of tolerance. As noted in the pics, the drivers seat is badly ripped, it is covered with a seat cover. The passenger and rear seat are in good condition. Also theaccelerator pedal is missing. The car was like that when I bought it. The lever is there and I have no problem driving it with the pedal piece missing. There is a small water leak on the drivers side. The previous owner ripped the carpet out on the drivers side to try to find the leak. I never found it but I suspect it may be the seal around the windshield. If you are mechanically/electrically inclined this would be a fun car to mess with. The car is currently being driven but I need to make room for another car I'm getting in July. If I had the money I would havedefinitely converted it to a lithium battery pack. The car of course will have to be towed by a shipping service unless you live near Warsaw, NY. I had good success with Uship when I bought the car and had it shipped from Maine. Upon payment clearing through Paypal, the clear Title and Bill of Sale will be sent to you and we can communicate regarding a shipping schedule. This vehicle is sold in as is and where is condition, with no warranties expressed or implied.
