Description

For sale is my 1967 Daimler 2. 5 V8 sedan. This is a close relative of the Jaguar Mk2. but with a 2. 5 V-8 Hemi. This car was the last true Daimler powered automobile. It has a three speed automatic transmission that has been rebuilt and works well. For those not familiar with Daimler. this is a British car manufacturer that built high end cars for royalty and in later years like 1950 built car to sell to the public. Daimler was purchased by Jaguar in 1960 and had an agreement to continue to produce Daimler cars. Jaguar took the MK2 and fitted the V8 hemi and dual exhaust and whala . the Daimler 2. 5 was born. Some other differences between the Daimler and the Jag is the Daimler has split front bench seat. smaller transmission tunnel and a difference rear valance to accommodate the dual exhaust. Ok. back to this car. I've had it for about a year. It needed transmission rebuilt when I purchased it. The torque converter was rebuilt along with the transmission. I'm very particular. so the that was the beginning. It has the entire brake system rebuilt or new along with copper nickle brake lines. Heads removed by suggestion by another Daimler owner. to check water port blocking that occurs with age. All was well and the valves were checked and installed with new gaskets. The distributor was professionally rebuilt by Advanced Distributors. New distributor cap. wires and spark plugs fitted as well. New water pump. hoses. aluminum radiator and stainless steel heater pipe kit. The generator was rebuilt and new solid state regulator was installed. Suspension was rebuilt with new coil springs. polyurethane bushings. ball joints and shocks. Rear suspension was redone with new polyurethane bushings and shocks. The wheel were cleaned. painted and new tires installed. New exhaust system was installed. The fuel system including carburetors were rebuilt or new. I'm probably leaving out some of the work out but that was the major stuff. I have a pile or receipts to show it see pictures. Overall condition is very nice. The paint is an older paint job but looks good. very few dings. The interior is in very nice condition. The wood is serviceable but could use redoing as a winter project if one would desire. Mechanically it is in very good condition. since all the work that has been done. It drives well and smooth running. All the gauges and lights work. No rust. There are flaws as one would expect for a 48 year old car. There's chips in the paint. The chrome shines well but has some blemishes and few scratches (see pictures) . The windshield has a small scratch on the passenger side. The choke light socket holder is broke so the bulb is just hang behind the dash. easy fix. The power antenna in not working currently. The windshield wipers do not work. I will have a look at them in the next day or two. This is a fine car that in VERY RARE and being Left Hand Drive is even more rare so I'm told! I'm selling reluctantly. but found another toy I would like to pursue. Wife says this needs to go first. So the bidding will determine the future. I have a loan on this car . o at end of auction would need payment asap to pay loan off the get clear title in my hand to sign over for the new owner. On Apr-14-15 at 17:15:32 PDT. seller added the following information:Ok. quick update. windshield wipers are working after cleaning connections and a relube. On Apr-17-15 at 20:03:24 PDT. seller added the following information:I would like to mention. the seats appear to be vinyl. One person on here made a big deal about that. so I thought I would mention this. Also as most would expect this is a 48 year old car and us sold as is as shown with no warranty. Payment required in 5 days after auction and the car will not leave until the title is back in my possession from finance company. I will rush this along once payment is received. Thanks for understanding.
