You are bidding on a 1970 Mercedes Benz 220 diesel. The miles are very near 115k. The color is (#291) the very dark green Mercedes loved a lot in the 60's and 70's. This car is a real head turner, nd gets lots of “wow, ice car”comments.

The big thing for classic MB fans, the starting bid is very low, nd the reserve price is low also. “Frau Blucker” needs a new home and as you develop an interest it's important to realize its value will only appreciate as it gets older. The reason for parting with my favorite fraulein in a moment -

But first some history. this 220D has spent a lot of time in the Northwest, riginally licensed in Oregon, t was owned by a woman in Washington for a long time. Probably in '08 or '09 it underwent a total ground up renewal in California or Nevada ( pictures below), ut I don't know who did it. A couple of years ago it went briefly to a classic car dealer in Minnesota from Nevada (a Mercedes Benz person in Minneapolis), hat's where I found it. I think I'm the fourth or fifth owner. I probably paid too much for it, ut that's to your advantage as you will read below, nd the truth is, t is a very nice car. The opening bid is $9,500 and considering I have about $17,000 invested its a heck-of-a good place to start the auction. Why the low opening bid ??

Not to put too fine an edge on the reason for the sale is my glaucoma, t's turning out to be a bit of a losing battle and I need to man up and take my wife on a real vacation while I can still see well enough to travel.

“Frau Blucker' starts first time and every time, nd doesn't smoke. It'll run all day long at 55 to 60 mph, and gets about 27 to a gallon in the process. But at 70 to 75 mph I think you may be asking for more than this 45 year old beauty can give you for the long haul. So, f you're looking for a freeway commute vehicle, ou probably should think twice.

Included here are a whole bunch of photos for you to consider. All the history is in a notebook.

I had a new heater motor and turn signal unit installed in 2015 (both big jobs) I also cleared up a wiring problem in front and rear lights. The speedometer and clock were also rebuilt in '15, t that time the odometer was set back to 100k ( I figured it would be easier for me to keep track). New vapor barriers were installed on all four doors in '15. I have the original Blaupunkt am/fm radio ( I put an am/fm/cd in for my I-pod). Brakes, lutch, ransmission are excellent, ires are new Hankooks. I also added a new Mercedes passenger side mirror, helps a lot). Nothing much to do now except love her and add your own personal touches. She currently lives on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Come on up and drive her if you like.

If you win, ou'll need to immediately send a certified check for $500 (in 48 hours), he balance in 4 days, ash, ire transfer, ertified bank check, r I will take a personal check but will hold the vehicle until it clears. Buyer is responsible for shipping, ut I will assist finding one. The vehicle is sold “as is” due to its age more than its condition. Questions? I'll get back to you quickly. Happy bidding !
